U.S. Congressmen and veterinarians Ted Yoho and Kurt Schrader have joined forces across the aisle to introduce a Congressional Resolution in support of National Purebred Dog Day.

Canines at the Capitol
 
On a very busy and stressful day at the State Capitol, North Carolina legislators and staff, were thrilled to once again welcome the American Kennel Club for the annual AKC Canines at the Capitol event. The AKC invited them to “come hug a dog on your lunch break” and they did just that – taking “paws” from the issues of the day to decompress and posing for pictures with some local AKC top dogs!

Government Relations Welcomes New California Federation
 
AKC Government Relations recently welcomed the Dog Owners of the Golden State (DOGS) as its fourth recognized federation in California. GR works with state federations of dog clubs to fight bad dog laws and support positive measures that teach the public about responsible dog ownership and care.

Legislative Information and Updates
 
 
  Forty-one states, Congress, and Puerto Rico are in session. Louisiana is accepting pre-filed bills for its upcoming legislative session. AKC Government Relations is currently tracking more than 1,700 bills on the federal, state, and local levels.
