AKC News
Fast CAT, a timed 100-yard dash where a dog chases a lure, is the newest AKC event. It is a fun and healthy activity for dogs and their owners that answers the intriguing question – how fast can my dog run? In competition, the dogs run one at a time over a straight 100-yard course. Their times are then converted into miles per hour and used as part of a handicap system to assign points earned, which will be used to determine titles and standings.

PR/Social Tips
When seeking coverage for a dog show or other event, let the media know that your club’s experts are available to speak with them about any dog-related subject. Send the reporter a “dog-related experience” biography on each of your club’s experts for future use. Reporters keep files about specific topics, which they refer to when they have a breaking story. Even though they may not want to cover the story you are pitching now, you may be called upon in the future.
