2014 AKC Humane Fund Award For Canine Excellence winner Bruno, a retired K-9, was the inspiration for a monument honoring K-9 officers that was unveiled in Anaheim, California last week.

At the Salt City Cluster of Dog Shows, the Onondaga Kennel Association and Syracuse Obedience Training Club unveiled the AKC Pet Disaster Relief trailer that will serve their area.

Getting the Word Out
Media alerts work well for events that are virtually self-explanatory and offer good visuals that will appeal to photographers and TV camera crews.

Don’t forget to include a contact number, including a “day-of” event number, such as a cell phone. Send the alert a day or two before the event to get short-lead media (TV, wire services and daily newspapers) to put it on their assignment schedule.
